Futile musings of an old ghost

Trust in Troubled Times: A Reflection 135

He’s cautious, but not suspicious, so he did not suspect foul play. However these are troubled times, and he may have expected she was a crook. In the event, he was spooked.

Postscriptum

Thirty two words, hence the short sentence. But it’s really about trust. Caution is no longer enough. I have been wondering if we have become, most of us, suspicious of everything. If true, it is a sad observation on our society, on ourselves.

I recall my youth, were the people I knew then , family, friends, teachers, suspicious? At least not in my memory. Or am I now just nostalgic of that time? Does this make me forget that I too was then suspicious of everything?

I agree that the world has changed. Sop many contributing factors over the years, but some of the powers that be seem to want to speed things up- so the ante has been upped in recent times, I think.
