Futile musings of an old ghost

The Dance of Temptation and Fear 127

Temptation

Ignoring the shadows she walks toward the faint glow, all the time thinking she’s so close to reaching him.

What makes her so confident, she who used to be shy and hesitant?

He, in turn, is afraid, unused to such attention, to the willpower she exudes, for he fears for his freedom, his survival.

Slayer

She’s sensed his retreat, as the glow gets dimmer, and she’s now almost running, determined to catch him, to catch and destroy the evil.

He’s made himself invisible, to anyone but her, as she knows his scent, the scent of Nosferatu…

Finally she reaches him, shrunk and shaking behind a ruined stone wall, casts a spell and he turns to dust.
