Futile musings of an old ghost

Bushido

Bloganuary writing prompt
In what ways do you communicate online?

She appears rarely, usually in winter, often in a background of snowy mountains. I do not doubt she was a great warrior, a long disappeared breed. Her garment is usually simple, that of a medieval peasant of ancient Japan, or perhaps, China.

We speak, but I would be incapable of telling you in what language. She’s interested in what I do, how I live, how I communicate with people. Often, she makes observations about my reading, the techniques I use, her understanding of our modern world is, at time, uncanny. The other night, as our conversations take place mostly at night, she was asking me how I communicate when I am online. Of course she did not say “online”, but something that sounded like “in the field”, or “in campaign”. I was amazed. I long for those nocturne conversations with one of my favourite ghosts.
