“You sometime surprise me”, she said smiling. “You normally have plenty to say for yourself, on any subject. But you can’t answer my simple question. Why not? Our conversation is never limited, or restricted. You can speak your mind! You know I don’t care about being correct, whatever that means! So: give me a straight answer: would you like me to wear this at our party next week?”
